At the midpoint we went to Machakos where we stayed in a nice Hotel that made the most amazing food. If you haven’t put cilantro in you ground beef for your burgers…I don’t know about this before…AMAZING.
We had a week long HIV/AIDS training which I really enjoyed. We visited a level 5 hospital (specifically their HIV/AIDS care center), met local drama groups who have found a creative way to share the HIV/AIDS message, we were trained on HIV and various vulnerable groups (drug users, pregnant women, etc). All the trainings were sponsored by PEPFAR I believe.
During this time we also had the 1st Annual Mr. & Ms. Peace Corps pageant. Your’s truly was the 2nd runner up.
Here’s me and my roomie, Marielle after we got ready for the pageant.
